About me and my career as a programmer

I’ve been programming since I was 13. Most of that time was in systems nobody would see – internal tools, infrastructure, the kind of code that doesn’t go in a portfolio but keeps things running.

These days I work mostly with Go, C, UNIX and SQLite. I build tools I use, not frameworks that show up in conference talks. I prefer code that lasts and systems you can fully understand – not out of principle, but because code nobody can read eventually becomes someone else’s problem.

Go Study Group

I’ve been running the group for over ten years. Every Saturday at 2 PM, live. Sometimes there’s a recording, sometimes not. The material is on GitHub and open.

The rest

Electronics, aeromodeling, Arduino, tabletop RPGs, M5Stack. Programming and electronics mix so much I can’t always tell them apart.
